Office of Research Administration (ORA)
The Office of Research Administration (ORA) is the institutional office at Brandeis responsible for the review, submission and acceptance of grants and contracts for research, education and public service. Before paperwork is submitted to ORA, the Principal Investigator (PI) and the department grant administer should sign the chartstring request form, which includes certification that they have read and understand the terms and conditions of the award. Additionally, be sure to be familiar with ORA's Policies and Procedures.
Sponsored Programs Accounting (SPA)
Sponsored Programs Accounting (SPA) is primarily responsible for ensuring compliance with sponsor regulations, safeguarding project funds, maximizing the university's cash flow position via timely and accurate billing, collections and resolution of budget overruns, maintaining good relations with sponsoring agencies and university staff, and facilitating the progress of sponsored projects for principle investigators and department administrators. Procurement and Business Services
The mission of Procurement Services is to be the leader in higher education procurement by delivering the highest quality customer service to the Brandeis community through an efficient and collaborative best-in-class sourcing and procurement process. The goal of the Procurement Department is to support all departments in the acquisition of products and services for Brandeis University at the lowest total cost of ownership. List of policies: Cell Phone Policy, Conflict Minerals and Electronics Policy, Travel Policy, Ethics Policy: Fair Vendor Relations, Computer Purchase Policy, Gift Card Policy.
Animal Subjects and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)
Animal Subjects and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) The Brandeis University IACUC works to ensure that all protocols are reviewed in accordance with applicable guidelines. All research-related activities involving the use of animals at Brandeis University must receive IACUC approval before they may be conducted. Human Subjects in Research and the IRB
Human Subjects in Research and the IRB have the responsibility of ensuring federal, state, and university guidelines are followed in research involving human participants. Training is an important part of our Human Subjects in Research program at Brandeis, and we are pleased to offer a convenient, customized online training program through the University of Miami's Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI).

Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR)
Brandeis University requires all researchers supported on a sponsored project, including students, postdocs, staff and faculty, to complete an RCR online training course within 60 days of beginning work on the project. This course is offered through the CITI Program and must be completed every four years as long as you are working on any funded research project, regardless of whether the funding is internally (Brandeis-funded) or externally sponsored. In addition, all graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in the physical sciences are required to complete two-day Responsible Conduct of Research course.
