Michael Soboff ’15 has been selected as the Disney Soccer/National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III Men's Soccer National Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 21.

The senior forward guided the Brandeis men to a 2-0 week and has them off to a perfect 7-0 start, one of seven unbeaten and untied teams in Division III. The Judges, ranked first in New England and fifth in all of Division III by NSCAA, have won their first seven games for the third season in a row. This is the team’s highest regional and national rankings since 1996.

Last week, Soboff was the key offensive cog against two other squads that were unbeaten at the time. He scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 road win at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (1-0) on Sept. 17, tallying in the 24th minute. On Sept. 20 at home against Tufts University (2-0), Soboff assisted the winning goal in the 79th minute of a 2-0 victory. Soboff leads the University Athletic Association (UAA) in game-winning goals, and is tied for second with five goals and third with 12 points. He was previously selected as the UAA Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

The Judges’ next home match is Tuesday, Sept. 30, 7 p.m. against Wheaton College (7-0-1), currently ranked 18th in Division III by the NSCAA.
